In a high-level meeting held at the Telangana Secretariat, Minister for IT, Industries and Legislative Affairs D. Sridhar Babu met with representatives from the German Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Foundation, including Dr. Sabine Fandrych, Mr. Mirco Gunther and Mr. Christoph Mohr, to discuss opportunities for deeper cooperation between Germany and Telangana.

The discussions highlighted Telangana’s rapidly growing strengths across key sectors Information Technology, aerospace, life sciences, MSMEs, manufacturing and skill development. The Minister showcased the State’s robust industry-led initiatives, highly skilled talent pool and dynamic innovation ecosystem that continues to attract strong global investor confidence.

A significant part of the interaction focused on the State’s new and ongoing initiatives such as:

 

 

 

  • Young India Skills University – aimed at creating a future-ready workforce
  • AI Innovation Centre – driving research, emerging technologies and applied AI
  • OneBio at Genome Valley – strengthening biotech and life sciences innovation
  • Upgraded Advanced Training Centres (ATCs) – enhancing technical skilling
  • Safran’s MRO Facility – a major aerospace partnership reflecting Telangana’s global appeal

The FES delegation appreciated Telangana’s progressive policies and expressed keen interest in expanding collaboration in areas such as technology partnerships, skill development, climate innovation and economic development.

The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to enhancing Germany–Telangana cooperation, unlocking more avenues for investment, research and technology exchange. Under Sridhar Babu’s leadership, Telangana continues to position itself as a hub of innovation and a preferred destination for global industry.
